Jen and I are fortunate to live in New Hampshire. We’re in a small town next to New Hampshire’s largest city. We’re close to an airport and a good number of decent restaurants. And if you travel west…a good many country roads to ride.
I wanted to go to Peterborough, NH on Independence Day for a little shopping. I found several dirt roads to get me there and back. This made me realize that one doesn’t have to travel far and wide to find great enjoyment on the bike. New Hampshire has many wonderful back roads. I have often thought this while road cycling, too, as I try to find roads that are less busy with motor traffic.
Last Saturday, Philip, Rob, and I took several other dirt roads to Peter Christian’s Tavern in New London. I had met Philip on a ride to Ontario. Rob was up from Florida visiting Philip for the long weekend. They asked for some suggestions on scenic roads. I had a couple of ideas.

The paved roads around our part of New Hampshire are also a lot of fun to ride motorcycles. This video is a ride Jen and I took on our BMW R60 /2 last Autumn. Click on the image to see the video.
